Kenny Suttner was a beautiful and kind 17-yr-old boy. He was such a gentle soul he was known as the “baby whisperer.” While he hurt no one, Kenny was tortured by bullies throughout all of his school years and even at his workplace. Ultimately, Kenny took his own life to escape his pain. In a groundbreaking case that ignited a national conversation on bullying, a Missouri coroner's jury found in January 2017 that Kenny Suttner's suicide was a direct result of harassment at work and school. Thereafter, 17-year-old Kenny's former supervisor was arrested, booked and charged with manslaughter. In an effort to inspire our youth to combat the epidemic that is bullying, Bianca's Kids has implemented the "Kenny Suttner Award." This prestigious award is targeted to celebrate kids and teens who TAKE A STAND against bullying. With a growing number of suicides as result of bullying, our nation cannot afford to lose anymore Kenny Suttners. Our hope is that by celebrating those who take a stand against bullying by providing them Awards, gift cards and feature stories on our social media pages, the positive reinforcement will invite others to do the same. If a child/teen you know (ages 0-18) takes a direct stand against bullying in their school or workplace, email Debbie@biancaskids.org for a nomination form.
