WISH GRANTED - Little girl with genetic disorder gets her wish granted to ensure a safer night sleep. Meet Ainsely
Here is the wish we received:
Dear Bianca's Kids:
Ainsley was born with 19p13.12 genetic duplication. This duplication causes her to be globally developmentally delayed, have hypotonia, unable to walk, unable to talk, unable to eat solid foods and a whole host of other issues.
In order to provide 24/7 care for Ainsley and to get her to therapy, doctors appointments and specialty appointments over 3 hours from home, I (her mom) had to quit my job back in January. Her expenses, along with normal family expenses has caused significant hardships. It’s hard to meet all of Ainsleys needs on a limited budget.
Recently, Ainsley has started wanting to move more while sleeping. Sleep is one of the biggest issues we have had since Ainsleys birth. For the first 15 months of her life, her dad and I slept in recliners holding her because that was the only way she would sleep. We then found a hammock that goes in the crib which was helping her to sleep until recently. We never used the crib like a normal baby would until recently. We discovered that the crib is questionable in quality and the mattress that was sold with it is much to small when Ainsley woke us up in the middle of the night screaming because she had fallen between the crib and mattress. Had she not screamed, it could have been devastating since she’s unable to move herself independently.
My wish for Ainsley is a new crib with a mattress that fits appropriately so that she can roll around in her sleep safely and so we can get the sleep we need also. With back to school coming up for her older siblings, we just can’t afford the crib and mattress she desperately needs. We don’t need anything fancy, just a safe crib with a mattress that fits as it should.
That is such a scary situation and trust me, we understand the finacial hardships of special needs parents. So, we have purchased and are having delivered to you a brand new 4 in 1 crib for Ainsley and firm/soft mattress we hope will be safer option for her.
With love from
