Dear Bianca’s Kids:
Andrew is a JOY! He has cerebral palsy and autoimmune disorder, but has fought his fight with a hug and a smile for EVERYONE, every day, his whole life. But we need help to continue to help him heal.
ALL of Andrew’s medical treatments have been out of pocket for our family for over a decade. What is helping him is considered “alternative” by the insurance industry, so they will not pay. I, his mother, had to leave the workforce to care for him when he was 1 year old. For nearly 13 years, we have lived on the sole salary of his father, who is a public school teacher in AZ, where teachers are paid nearly the lowest in the country. All these years we have paid at least $1000 PER MONTH out of pocket for Andrew’s local medical care and up to $20,000 out of pocket for intensive treatments out of state for many of those years.
Andrew’s muscles are very tight. Andrew has traveled to New Mexico for neuro-acupuncture twice to meet with a doctor who is top of her field. Neuro-acupuncture really helps the stiffness and pain in his feet and legs, which improves his quality of life.
During this time especially, we are really struggling financially. We would like to take Andrew to New Mexico again soon so he can experience relief from pain and stiffness once again, but we need help with the costs. I am writing to see if you all would help with the hotel, car rental or treatment costs? Truly, ANY amount of assistance would be a huge help! Even if it is just covering 1 night of our lodging costs.
