***Bianca’s Kids Grants Wish for Group Home for Local Kids who are Victims of Abuse, Abandonment & Neglect****
We received a wish from Robyn who is a volunteer at Hunterdon Youth Services (“HYS) in Flemington, NJ. Founded in 1979, HYS has spent the last 35 years safeguarding children, strengthening families and building responsible citizens. They serve children from all over the state of New Jersey with an emphasis on boys ages 13-adulthood. The children at HYS are evenly split between youth that have been abused, neglected and abandoned or who have behavioral issues beyond the scope of what can be addressed by their families.
Robyn explained that the HYS group home was in need of fencing for a garden. Not just any garden but a garden that provides the kids of HYS a place to relax and learn about health and nutrition. Gardening has many therapeutic benefits that are helpful to children such as those HYS supports. The requested fencing will serve as a barrier that will keep the fruits and vegetables the kids grow protected and safe from animals.
We love HYS’s mission and this particular project. That is why we granted this wish by paying for the fencing HYS needed so desperately.
