At 14, Shellby lost her best friend - Alexa Strittmatter in a horrific traffic accident. Nearly a year to the day later, Bianca's Kids granted a surprise wish for Shellby. More than anything Shellby wanted to memorialize Alexa. It was our goal to grant Shellby wish and to provide her an alternate place to go to remember her BFF. On October 28, 2014, we gift Shellby with her very own memorial bench to honor Alexa. The bench was placed at a park that held memories of the two girls. The inscription on the bench holds the nickname Shellby called Alexa along with the image of a tattoo Alexa designed that Shellby and others now wear in her memory.
We received a wish from the loving grandmother of little Reef. Reef is a 5 year old Cancer survivor and warrior suffering from Graft vs Host disease as a result of a bone marrow transplant to save his life. Grandma also sent an accompanying video of "Mr. Happy No Matter What" and after watching it, WHO COULD REFUSE HIM A WISH??? Not us!
Take a look at the video and you'll see what we mean.
Little Reef's wish was simple. One "Super Why" personalized cape baring Reef's name and some Donald Duck toys. Wish granted for this little warrior/angel!
